Memorial Garden Dedication
Ceremony
June 1 - Save the Date!
While it's taken some time to
get to this stage of construction
of our Memorial Garden, several
milestones have been reached.
The land has been cleared and
graded, the pathways put in
and the grass and shrubs planted.
Then came the "Welcome
Rock" with its beautiful
bronze plaque. Two members of
BSA Troop 86 raised money and
used their talents to build
an arbor and to install pavers
around the future fountain area
as part of their Eagle Scout
community service projects.
We've had the first interment
of cremated ashes, those of
Paul Leonard, whose vision and
efforts were responsible for
starting this project to offer
a new ministry to our church
family. We hope to have elevated
granite stones engraved with
the verses of Psalm 23 installed
around the perimeter walkway
of the garden by the end of
May. A few projects still remain
to be completed.
Now it's time to reach a new
milestone, one that is both
sacred and a celebration. You
are cordially invited to attend
the Dedication Ceremony in the
Memorial Garden on Sunday, June
1 following the morning worship
service. We will meet in Fellowship
Hall after Coffee Hour and walk
down to the Memorial Garden.
Those who would find the walk
challenging can drive down to
the garden area. Enter through
the curb cut and park on the
grass. Rev. Brenner and Rev.
Carr will lead us in the Dedication
Ceremony.
